Description
Factoid is a audio plug-in and standalone application that allows you to create endless variations of audio clips. It uses machine learning to decompose a sound into a set of layers that are individually controlled or randomly shifted in time to change the overall structure of the clip.
Each download contains both plug-in (VST and AU) and standalone versions.

Love Factoid’s ability to manipulate unique bands of audio in time and volume.
And having the power to completely remove unwanted elements is a bonus.
Light weight, but a great sound design tool.

Factoid is a lot of fun. I find it most useful on drum and percussion loops where you can nudge individual parts around with quite a lot of precision to create variations. Randomisation nearly always produces something useful too. It would be great to have the ability to store different snapshots and trigger them – next update perhaps?

Factoid is a kick and wonderful sound design tool. The “decomposition” function provides a way to do something like stem separation with field recordings, whether it’s a question of isolating particular sounds or breaking them down even more.

Factoid is a very inspiring plugin. You can change the order of elements in a loop and even remove some of them to place them on another track. This is done with extreme ease and fluidity. All loops can be reinvented. I don’t know of anything else like it.
